Lots of NEWS nbspand some Boston shows

Hi everyone,

My friend Shelagh recently characterized 2022 with "fasten your seat belt". This rings really true in all the ways! But as for my little corner of artistic endeavors, here's a few things that are new.

I'm making an album. It's about 2/3rds recorded (with an amazing producer, to be revealed) and I am very attached to it. It's older, it's stronger, it reflects a shit ton of growth that can only come with middle age. I am soooo looking forward to sharing it with you.

Also. I am leading another volunteer trip to Guatemala! We had to take 2021 and last winter off but we are aiming to return to Project Somos (www.projectsomos.org) FEBRUARY 19 - 25, 2023 for volunteer trip number four! Consider this the preliminary announcement. Watch this list for further details or shoot me an email (pantjebear@yahoo.com) if you'd like to be personally kept in the loop and are thinking of joining us! You can read more about past trips on the front page of my website. We have forged lifelong friendships on this trip. The below photo is from this weekend's Somos first trip reunion!

In more news. During Covid I became a part-time animator and it’s been a joy to be involved in projects that differ from my pevious corner of the arts. I recently completed an animation that tells the story of Holocaust Survivor, Abe Piasek, and the day he was lifted up by two men on the platform at Auschwitz to make him appear taller, and thus survived selection. Abe’s story is as much a story of human courage and kindness as it is of atrocity. Watch my animation here:

If you’d like to hear Abe’s story as told by his friend Steve Goldberg, there will be 2 Zoom sessions this month. I highly recommend this moving event!I will let Steve tell about it himself:

Hear the compelling story of Abe Piasek, a 90-year old Holocaust survivor, as told by his friend, Steve Goldberg. Abe passed away just before covid hit and days before he died, he asked Steve to keep telling his story.

Steve, a veteran educator and a lawyer, weaves together more than a dozen video clips of Abe speaking with images, maps and other testimony from people who knew Abe. At the end of the 90 minute presentation, you will feel like you got to know Abe, his inspiring story of resilience and persistence, and his message of “don’t hate anyone.”

Two free Zoom sessions – Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 18 from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern time. Please RSVP to Steve at MrGoldberg@gmail.com and he will send you the Zoom link for the program.

Lastly, SHOWS! I'll be in:

Charlotte, NC -- May 10th (today)

Richmond, VA -- May 11th

Rockport, MA -- May 20th (opening for Martyn Joseph)

Somerville, MA (Burren) -- May 21st and May 22nd

Brownfield, ME -- May 29th (w Ellis Paul)

THANKS so much everyone and don't forget to fasten your seat belts!
