so i am once again heading home to germany in 2 weeks where the southern german version of santa clause (christ child) will be deciding whether to bear gifts (out of the bag over his right shoulder) or to beat me (with the stick over his left shoulder) (yap, comparatively speaking the german xmas myth always did make the american coal-in-your-stocking-threat for those children who've been bad seem a bit pansy-like=2E=2E=2E)=2E  

at some point my brother and i will have to follow my

father into the woods where we will illegally cut down

a christmas tree=2E  (this is not a german tradition,

just my father being cheap)=2E   i'm sure wading through

the cold snow forest rangers close on our heels

i will have ample time to reflect on this year=2E but for now i

can already say it's been one beautiful year=2E  holy crap=2E  

i feel so lucky to do what i do=2E  i acrued new fans and friends this year and reached new career milestones('kilometerstones' as we would say in germany :)=2E I got to appear on National Public Radio, play the Newport Folk Festival, win a Boston Music Award, feature in the Boston Globe and sign to Fleming Artists to name just a few=2E  thank you all so much for coming to my shows and for spreading

the music=2E  and i can't thank enough ELLIS PAUL and

RALPH JACCODINE who are the angels that helped make

this one of my best years ever (not your archetypal

seraphine, more like long-haired rocker type angels)=2E=2E=2E and

seamus egan for the production of my record=2E

everybody else=2E hopefully you know who you are=2E



wishing you a very peaceful and happy holiday season=2E

i'll be ending out the year with a new york city show

at mo pitkins this saturday=2E  see you next year if not

in New York!!!!

Since the release in April of  her debut studio release, "Big Dream Boulevard", Antje Duvekot has won the Kerrville (Tx=2E) "Best New Folk" Award, The Boston Music Award's "Outstanding Folk Act of 2006", performed at the Newport, Philadelphia, Mountain Stage, WXPN and Great Waters  Festivals, performed at the Boston Choice Awards as the city's top musical act=2E=2E=2Ewas asked to showcase at the National Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis, TN=2E and then=2E=2E=2Eshe was  signed to one of  the nation's premiere  booking agencies, Fleming Artists, opened up a cross country tour for Ellis Paul, shared the stage with Richard Shindell, The Indigo Girls, Catie Curtis and others =2E=2E=2E=2E and has just passed 5000 CD's sold from her web site, and the stage=2E=2E=2E and now she is making numerous "Best Releases of 2006" lists, including WUMB's "Top 100 Folk Artist's of the Year", National Public Radio's "Folk Alley Top Ten", "Midnight Special's Top Ten", and All Music Guide's 2006's "Top New Releases" =2E=2E=2E and more accolades are coming to our attention daily=2E
