Update, New Song and upcoming Online show

Hello Dear Friends,

Oh, I do apologize for the radio silence, as well as the drop-off in Tuesday Offerings. I just kind of ran out of steam there, which I hear is a common theme among folks this far into the pandemic. In addition to the struggle of staying creative as daily life grinds on in its ever-abstract and screen-based not-so-new normal, I have also been quite busy!

I feel fortunate to have gotten to work with the Goethe Institute on offering song-based German classes to high schools over Zoom (sooooo much respect to school teachers for managing this day-in and out!).

I have also been asked to write several custom songs this spring. One of them just released today, in fact. I wrote an original Earth Day Song (also for Goethe Institute) and you can hear it here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOV0191MUjxXGvaEaZ0vxZw

Another custom song in the works will be for the Ben Arthur podcast “SongWriter”, a podcast of stories and answer songs. I am thrilled because I love the author I was paired with and am currently working on the response song to his gorgeous story about difficult parent relationships.

I’ve also continued with video work. I recently finished a music video for Dar Williams (it releases in October!) and am currently making a paper stop motion video for saxophonist Dave Koz. And more video projects are in the pipeline!

And lastly, some local live shows are cautiously being booked. Since I may not see many of you live yet though, I’ll be doing another Facebook Live ONLINE SHOW THIS SUNDAY at 7:30pm. You can tune in here: https://www.facebook.com/antjeduvekot/

It’s certainly been a year of reinvention. And I’ve said it before: I absolutely would not have gotten through this without you guys’ support and continued interest. I am receiving my first vaccine shot in 2 weeks and beginning to spy some rays of hope. At the same time, I feel worried about the devastating spread of variants and the long road ahead, globally speaking. I could not be more keenly aware of the specifically American privilege around universal vaccine access that we are now enjoying.

Hope to see you Sunday and to get you some more Tuesday Offerings whenever possible.

With gratitude,

Antje
