Oceanography, New DUO projects and a Single

So, I spent a lot of years on this solo diving mission. Making, taking and delivering my proprietary blend of musical and medicinal deep sea observations. I scoured every inch of that ocean floor, brought back what I could, and mapped that terrain in great detail. It felt very worthwhile.
But these days, I'm growing evermore hungry to be on a field team. I'm getting more interested in pursuits of emergence and color theory, in exploring caves and corners I can't get to by myself and in swapping my oceanography for a mountain view. To let gravity take hold and let the curves of the collaborative take it where it will. Into the wild.
Thus I'm thrilled to announce a number of upcoming collaborations, most notably a show I'm building together with guitarist, Colin Forhan! Colin is a permanent member of the Eileen Ivers band and sits in with various other trad projects (Reverie Road, among others). When Colin and I jammed for the first time in NH this summer, it sounded so pretty I actually had to choke back tears. We've been working up a duo set that involves my originals, but also trad songs, pop songs, electronics, harmonies and potentially a future clown show. Please see my tour calendar for our maiden dates!
I'm equally excited to be joining forces with Seth Glier for a Mid-Atlantic and a Midwest Tour this fall. Seth's exquisite 2024 album "The Body Remembers" is a stunner. And oh yeah, Seth can also do, like, anything on the piano? That must be nice. Playing with him is the NEXT nicest thing! :)
Lastly, my cup overfloweth. I'm also super stoked for a run of New England trio shows in December with Eben Pariser and Molly Venter (of Goodnight Moonshine). These kids have musical talent ooozing out of them. It's almost unseemly ;) And I'm going to be as giddy as a third kid that gets to go to the circus with them. Can't wait to collaborate.
Shout-out also to Micah John who will be guesting on vocals and to more upcoming collabs with Maia Sharp, Alice Howe and Freebo in 2025! And don't worry, there will still be plenty of oceanography, also known as "solo shows".
In other news, I am releasing a timely single called "Britches" in the coming weeks. I go into the studio for that on Tuesday, so stay tuned!
See you at one of the shows this fall, if you are able to make it!
